Linda Strubbe was commissioned and installed at Salem Lutheran Church as a part-time Deaconess in 2022. LCMS deaconesses are women who are professional church-workers, trained to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through works of mercy, spiritual care, and teaching the Christian faith.
Linda retired from her previous career and has followed the Lord’s calling for a second career.Currently, she attends classes part-time at Concordia Theological Seminary at Fort Wayne, IN, working toward a Master of Arts in Deaconess Studies in the Distance Program. Linda completed her deaconess training in May 2022.
As a deaconess, Linda teaches third through eighth grade religion classes, visits members of the congregation who are unable to attend church and is working on starting a Swaddling Clothes Program at Salem. The Swaddling Clothes Program is a supplemental program that assists families in need by providing diapers, wipes, and new or lightly used clothing for sizes newborn through 5T free of charge. These items are donated by members of the church and the community. The goals is to open Swaddling Clothes in January 2023.
