The Swaddling Clothes program, located in the temporary classroom west of the school, is open the second Tuesday of each month from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

The mission of Swaddling Clothes is to share the mercy of Christ with our neighbors through the gifts of clothing, food, friendship and the forgiving Word of God.

From various donors, we assemble a collection of items associated with pregnancy and motherhood. The items include diapers, wipes, baby clothes, formula, bottles, etc. Then, on the second Tuesday of each month, Salem hosts a “shopping day” where parents can check out our collection and take a selected number of items to help them with their needs. Currently, clothing is available in sizes newborn through 5T.

If you want to donate items, contact Deaconess Linda Strubbe 217-243-3419. If you want to attend our shopping days, please come and visit us!

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”  (Matthew 19:14)
